Harrison’s Cave Barbados sits in the quiet, green uplands of St. Thomas Parish, at Allen View in Welchman Hall. It’s about a 30‑minute drive from Bridgetown and roughly 20 minutes from the west coast hotels around Holetown, so it’s easy to fit into a day trip no matter where you’re staying.
Getting There
Probably the easiest and most reliable way to get to the cave is by booking a tour that includes hotel pickup and drop-off. Here are a few options that offer this service:
You’ve got a couple of ways to get to Harrison’s Cave from the south shore, but none are perfect. It’s a trade-off. Speed for money.
A taxi is fastest. Easiest. It will also be expensive. Someone mentioned their trip from Paynes Bay cost about 300 Barbadian dollars—and they had the driver wait. So you’re looking at a significant cost. Always agree on the fare before you get in. I have a card for a guy, “Mario’s Taxi Service,” if that helps.

The bus is your other main option.
It’s cheap—BBD $2. The thing is, it will take a long time. You have to get a bus into Bridgetown first. Then, you have to cross town from the Fairfield Street Terminal to the Princess Alice Terminal to catch the right one going inland. It’s a whole thing.
You’re looking for the Shorey Village bus. It goes right past the cave. That same bus, incidentally, also passes the road for Coco Hill and the Flower Forest. So you can hit both spots. But doing both in a single day via bus? I don’t know. Seems unlikely. You’ll be at the mercy of the bus schedule, which runs about once an hour on weekdays. The bus ride itself is an experience, though; you get out among the Bajan people. If you’ve got time, maybe split it into two different days.
There are a couple of other ways. Harrison’s Cave sometimes offers its own transport for an extra fee, which might be worth looking into. And if you were driving, there’s parking. But you don’t want to rent a car.
